WineFinder

An AI-powered wine discovery platform. Browse the catalogue, find the right bottle with a few questions and ask an AI sommelier anything.

Goal

Choosing wine confuses most people. I wanted a place where even someone who knows nothing about wine can find a bottle that suits them in a few questions — and ask without feeling awkward.

Highlights

  • Filterable catalogueSearch and filter by type, sweetness and price.
  • Recommendation quiz3–5 picks from the catalogue based on a few answers, each with a written reason.
  • AI sommelierA chat on every page that only answers wine and food-pairing questions, in the selected language.
  • Ratings, reviews and favouritesOne rating and review per user per wine, plus a personal favourites list.
  • Community feedPublic posts, comments and likes.
  • 7 languagesTurkish, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and German.

How I built it

The front end is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript; the home page greets you with wine pouring into a glass as you scroll. Accounts and data live in Supabase, every table protected by row-level security. AI features use NVIDIA's Llama models through Python functions on Vercel. I wrote the code by directing AI; the design, flow and product decisions are mine.
